Education & Musical Style

Kevy G had many theatre debut breakthroughs at a young age, such as rehearsal pianist for Broadway show RAGTIME and second keyboardist in legendary Broadway musical RENT, whilst still studying; and he was also second keyboard player in Janice Honeyman's pantomime Robinson Crusoe and the Caribbean Pirates, at the Joburg Theatre.

With musical expertise and creativity, Kevy wrote the musical arrangements for two acclaimed Barnyard Theatre hit shows: Rough Diamonds & Divas and The Final Countdown.

Prodigious Bands

Kevy G is king of the keys and instrumentally involved in well-established jazz and party bands: The Groove Masters, Jazzmatix and The King’s Men. Further to this, he partook in Danny K’s short-but-successfully-lived wedding & corporate party band, Toy Soldiers.

Passionate Educator

Kevin is a driven and passionate music educator – paying homage to his own youth training – and tutoring music privately and consistently since 2004. He was choir director for King Edward VII School for six consecutive years, as well as a part-time lecturer at Wits University, for their Musical Theatre and Jazz Departments for another four years. He is the epitome of passion and commitment: teaching and inspiring aspiring musicians!

Kevy G’s youth training was in classical music - receiving practical and theory diplomas through UNISA. His personal preference is for modern music; leading to a BTech in Jazz & Contemporary Music from Tshwane University of Technology.

Ultimately, Kevy G brings finesse and great groove to a multitude of genres; with fantastic musical flexibility, visible in two solo recording projects, “Inspiring Instrumentals” and “Rolling on Instrumentals” which he independently arranged, performed, sequenced and produced … with over 100 tracks of music.
